About This Course

This hands-on course prepares health workers, county health information officers, and programme managers to use DHIS2 confidently in their daily work. Learners will move from core concepts through data entry and validation to analysis with tables, charts, and maps, and finally to building dashboards and interpreting routine data for decision-making. The course follows the South Sudan national HMIS workflow within DHIS2 and includes practical exercises for every module. Whether you enter data at facility level, review completeness at county level, or analyse trends at national level, this course will make you a stronger DHIS2 user.

What You Will Learn

By the end of this course, learners will be able to:
- Explain the core DHIS2 building blocks: data elements, datasets, organisation units, indicators, and dashboards
- Enter and validate monthly HMIS data correctly
- Run and interpret data quality checks including completeness, outliers, and consistency
- Create tables, charts, and maps to analyse routine data
- Build and share dashboards for different audiences
- Interpret coverage and trend data to support county-level decisions

Prerequisites

Completion of the Introduction to Health Informatics course is recommended. Learners need basic computer skills (keyboard, mouse, web browser). A DHIS2 practice account, where available, will enhance the exercises but is not required.
