Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the South Sudan Health Informatics Associations self-paced learning platform at https://academy.sshia.org. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these Terms.

1. Your Account

You must provide accurate, complete and current information during registration and keep your login credentials confidential. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account.

2. Learner Roles

The platform supports three roles: Super Manager (full platform administration), Manager (platform management and content administration) and Trainee (learning access). Public registration is available for Trainees only; management accounts are created by the platform administrators.

3. Courses, Enrolment and Fees

Course fees are displayed in South Sudanese Pounds (SSP) on each course page before you register. Registration for a paid course requires payment of the displayed course fee. Payment may be made online via MTN Mobile Money or by cash (which requires uploading a payment proof for verification by our team). Enrolment is activated once payment is confirmed. Certificate fees, where applicable, are displayed separately before payment. Course books, where offered, may carry their own fee.

4. Learning, Examinations and Certification

Courses are self-paced. You must complete all topics of a course to unlock the final examination. Examinations are time-limited; the number of attempts and passing score are shown before you start. If you exhaust your attempts without passing, you may purchase a re-sit where the course allows it. Certificates are issued electronically for passed examinations, are verifiable through our public verification page, and remain the property of the South Sudan Health Informatics Associations. Revoked certificates (issued in error or obtained fraudulently) are invalid.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to: share your account or examination access with others; copy, record, redistribute or publish course content, examination questions or exam answers; attempt to circumvent topic timers, examination controls or payment systems; upload fraudulent payment proofs; or use the platform for any unlawful purpose. Violations may result in suspension or termination of your account and revocation of certificates.

6. Intellectual Property

All course materials, media, books, examinations and platform content are owned by or licensed to the South Sudan Health Informatics Associations and are protected by copyright and other intellectual-property laws. You receive a limited, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the materials for your own personal learning only.

7. Payments and Refunds

All fees are in South Sudanese Pounds (SSP). Online payments are processed by MTN Mobile Money; cash payments are verified manually by our team. Fees paid are generally non-refundable once enrolment is activated, except where a course is cancelled by us or where required by applicable law.

8. Limitation of Liability

The platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the South Sudan Health Informatics Associations is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. The current version is always available on this page with its last-updated date. Material changes will be announced on the platform.
