About This Course

This foundational course introduces the principles and practice of health informatics for health workers, managers, and students in South Sudan. Learners will explore how data becomes information, how information supports decisions, and how digital tools are transforming health service delivery. The course draws on World Health Organization guidance on health information systems and digital health, and is grounded in the realities of the South Sudanese health system, where paper registers, radio reports, and mobile phones all play a role. No technical background is required; the course builds concepts step by step with practical examples from clinics, county health departments, and national programmes.
