About This Course

From cholera to floods to conflict-driven displacement, South Sudan faces recurrent health emergencies demanding coordinated, skilled response. This course, built on WHO emergency frameworks (IHR, Health Emergency and Disaster Risk Management), covers the emergency management cycle, incident management systems, rapid risk assessment, the pillars of outbreak response (coordination, surveillance, case management, IPC, logistics, risk communication), the cluster system, field teamwork and safety, and recovery and resilience. It prepares health workers, officers, and managers to be effective contributors and leaders during humanitarian health emergencies.

- Explain the incident management system and response coordination structures
- Conduct and interpret rapid risk assessments
